Center is located at N6285 Berlin Road, Green Lake, WI 54941 for Town of Brooklyn residents ONLY.
NOTE: Businesses are required by law to have their own dumpsters and are not allowed to use the Town Recycling/Sanitation/Green Waste Center (R/S/W).
You need to have a Town of Brooklyn sticker for your vehicle. Please see one of the attendants at the Center if you do not have one or if you have changed vehicles.
Items collected at the Center that must be recycled
- Containers (aluminum, glass, plastic and steel).
- Paper/fiber products (newspapers, corrugated cardboard, magazines. Items do not have to be separated- they are co-mingled.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE make sure containers are rinsed. ANY containers containing food, CANNOT BE RECYCLED and are considered waste.
Items considered waste and are not to be recycled
- Electronics or appliances with refrigerant
- Plastic Bags/Wrap
- Styrofoam
- Motor oil bottles
- Tissue paper
- Pet food bags
- Window glass
- Ceramics or china
- Drinking glasses
- Aluminum pans or foil
- Empty paint cans
- Scrap metal
Compost
Only brush, grass clippings and leaves will be allowed in the collection area. If you bring anything in bags, they have to be emptied into the collection area.
Scrap Lumber
Scrap lumber should be kept to a maximum of 4 feet long.
We do not collect the following items
- Lead acid batteries (old ones should be returned to the place you purchased the new one).
- Major appliances that contain refrigerants and any electronics as they contain heavy metals. The place you purchase these items should take them or may charge a small fee to recycle them.
- Used tires.
- Used oil, oil filters, or any absorbents contaminated with oil.
- No items which contain asbestos.
